FAQs
1. What is Coquito?
Coquito, translating to "Little Coconut" in Spanish, is a popular holiday drink. While it was first introduced in Puerto Rico, it has become a staple across the US today. The coconut-based beverage is sometimes called the Puerto Rican Eggnog. However, it tastes nothing like eggnog! At Cocovida Coquito, we make Coquito with coconut milk, coconut cream, Puerto Rican rum, sweetened condensed milk, and other spices. We also infuse our proprietary recipes with special ingredients to add a festive, creative, and delicious touch to traditional Coquito!
2. Does Cocovida Coquito use eggs to make Coquito?
No, we do not use eggs to make Coquito. This is because eggs change the flavor, consistency, and shelf life of Coquito.
3. How long does Cocovida Coquito last?
Coquito made without spirits lasts for two weeks whereas Coquito made with spirits lasts for approximately 5 months. We’re currently working on creating shelf-stable Coquito that can be enjoyed for longer, and helps minimize waste.
